An Integrated Hybrid 805 MW Hydropower and Solar PV Power Project in Liberia

Global Green Energy & Power (GGEP), through its subsidiary Liberia Green Energy Inc. (LGE), is driving a major energy transformation along the St. John River in central Liberia. Operation

Dry Season Performance

Solar production remains strong during low-flow months, helping maintain daytime supply when hydropower output decreases.

Rainy Season Alignment

Higher river levels in the wet season increase hydropower generation, offsetting the natural dip in solar output.

Reservoir Support at HEP-1

The HEP-1 reservoir stores water during peak solar hours and releases it later to keep overall power delivery stable.

Shaping Regional Energy Growth

This hybrid development strengthens Liberia’s energy security while creating new opportunities for regional power exchange. Surplus electricity from the project is positioned to flow into the ECOWAS network through the West African Power Pool (WAPP), supporting broader grid stability. By integrating hydropower with large-scale solar, Global Green Energy & Power (GGEP) and its subsidiary LGE are establishing a resilient, scalable, and sustainable model for energy growth across West Africa.
